Why I choose healthcare as a career path: When I was in 4th grade, I read a book about Clara Barton, America’s first nurse. For an entire month, I was set on becoming a nurse. Then one day, I started to wonder, could a woman be a doctor. I decided yes, a woman can be a doctor. Culturally, I was supposed to marry the doctor but I didn’t agree. I loved science and helping people and so I became the doctor instead.
