Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The Phone Triage Medical Assistant understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services.
  • Answers and routes incoming calls for assigned location on a complex telephone system
  • Collaborates and communicates efficiently with the Solution Center Specialists and Lead Solution Center Specialist.
  • Evaluates, assesses, and documents patient’s questions or concerns by utilizing clinical skills and established medical protocols.
  • Responsible for scheduling appointments, follow up appointments, annual exams, etc.
  • Calls patients that are discharged from the ED and/or hospital and schedules the required appointments.
  • Processes refill requests received from patients or pharmacies via phone or electronic format.
  • Effectively uses EMR system to document patient records using proper English grammar, spelling, and syntax.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


  • Current certification or registration as Medical Assistant
  • Preferably 3 or more years clinical experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in the operation of a computer keyboard and ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Products and electronic health record.
